Amores Robotics Kft. grew out of the tender titled “Research and development of mobile robotics technologies and products”, concluded in July 2015. Participants of the project were communication engineering, mobile communication and telecommunication technology researchers of the Department of Networked Systems and Services of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and researchers of the John von Neumann Faculty of Informatics of the Óbuda University, where research in the fields of robotics, mechatronics, intelligent electronics and software technology has been conducted for nearly 10 years. The project was led by BizalomVagyonvédelmiSzolgáltatóZrt., which, besides its main scope of activities - personal and property security services, designing security devices and the installation and maintenance of such - has been engaged in technical and scientific research and development since 1994.

The research activity commenced on 1 January 2013 includes the development of mobile robotic devices and technologies that establish the background conditions of the production of products and services. The mobile robots created as a result of the process – built from small terrestrial and aerial vehicles – may carry sensors, actuators and other useful loads. In order to satisfy the widest possible spectrum of user requirements, electronic and IT system components are designed in flexibly configurable units, built from modular elements. The base system is capable of executing simple tasks, and is therefore targeted at more price-conscious users. The base system supplemented with optional units can, however, meet requirements of professional user target groups.

The project objectives included the continuous promotion of the professional development of the students and lecturers involved in the research, and to establish a world-class knowledge base among the cooperating institutions in the course of the technological developments implemented. This creates the possibility of success for Hungarian developments in the dynamically growing market of mobile robotics systems for civilian use.
